Twitter and Re-tweeting

Something amazing happened yesterday and suddenly I thought of visiting my two year old twitter account once again. Re-tweeting felt great after 2 years :) I found some new connections while got a chance to re-connect with the old ones too. Yayy!

I didn't find much that had changed over twitter since my last login apart from some fresh and so cool features that I am writing right below:
1. Twitter from SMS and Fast Follow app for mobiles was one new thing I came across and yep Twitter from SMS is available on indian mobiles too but unfortunately only on Airtel, Reliance and Docomo. (My Docomo mobile connection made me smile here :D )

2. We can now happily and smilingly customise our own header and background designs for our profile :) This is awesome ! It is giving such an awesome look :D Previously my profile had a very blacky background - Jet black with greeny leaves popping out from the left corners of my profile. M loving the new look of my profile :) Here is how it looks now:

3. Then there is a 'Trends section' on the left side of the profile which is specifically tailored based on every user's location and connections. (I didn't know we could change it too :P I changed my settings to India/Hyderabad (- Hmm.. useful )
This is a blurred version of the same via printscreen :

4. I also observed that the twitter blog is much more active now ! It gives regular updates of twitter, happenings, its logo and usage, linking info, troubleshooting links and much much more ! There are over million tweets everyday ! (Whoa' )

Well that's all I could find as of now and am sure the new things will keep adding on :) You are welcome to join me here on Twitter :)

Before I wind up, let me not forget mentioning one of the best things I admire about twitter - It lets us to explore so much in 140 characters. Be it an 'about me' or a tweet or any other, it's all - time saving - short -crisp and the best one can actually collect and retain in mind while going through so much on the internet. For that matter, I find Facebook a little flooded with news stories :D

And not missing the best part of the whole experience, I thoroughly re-experienced the overwhelming joy of being able to follow the official profiles of my favourite celebrities and inspirational people. I kept finding and kept getting happier ! Anne Geddes, Chetan Bhagat, Anita DongreAnushka MenonAbhishek Bachchan... ...and I could go on and on to get a full view of their tweets and recent feeds! Fab ! On that note, smilingly I wind up here.

Below is the collage I customised for my twitter background design :)

A lot that happened over Coffee !

Gurgaon has been treating me all well ever since the D-day that I came here to join my summer internship in Bharti Airtel. The commercial city is bombastic and keeps on introducing me to different kinds of experiences that I could ever expect ! I am happy experiencing this phase of life in one hand and the other hand keeps itself busy in judging what is right and what not and what should be how. So that leaves my job all easy.

My weekends are mostly free and usually I step outside for lunch as my paying guest apartment doesn't provide with that facility. So on a pleasant saturday afternoon today, I hired a rickshaw and reached my nearest favourite destination "Sahara Mall" on the MG Road and thought of going for a coffee ride coupled with a sizzling chocolate brownie topped with a scoop of yummy vanilla Icecream. I spotted a nice table for myself, second from the first and placed the order while making an effort to get my things tidily assembled on the table. I spotted a "cafe chronicle" and went through flipping its pages while waiting for my order to arrive. "I should read newspapers more often" I thought and looked up, when I suddenly met eyes with a small girl, in a pretty white kurta and cute pink sandals beneath the faded blue denims. Her hair were roughly tied by her mom in a pony tail and her long fringes were neatly done to one side with the help of a cute baby clip. I went noticing that cute little girl when my order had just arrived !! :) Sizzling brownie and an Ice cold Cafe Frappe. My mouth watered and I started enjoying my feast.

After a 3-4 bites of the sizzling brownie I got interrupted with a sudden noise from the table adjacent to mine. My whole attention drove there while I pretended to be lost in the delicious coffee. A hefty lady around 28 years old sat on the couch while trying to make her point to her husband who sat on the opposite couch in a navy blue t-shirt paired with a mustard 3/4ths. They seemed to me the parents of that cute child I was noticing earlier. The kid resembled quite much like her mom, with the same round face and beautiful eyes.

"Is it that only you have a right to question? Don't I have any right to question you? Tell me Bobby, where did I go wrong yesterday ??" The lady was trying to be as humble as possible while in an urge to clarify some issue with her husband.

I could hear the man talking to the lady in super angry tone. The tones went higher and turned into a fight. Slowly I reduced my speed of taking the meal to the minimal; as I became even more interested to know as to what all was actually going on over their coffee.

The man was scolding her wife for spending too much money which was why his savings were not successful "But I spend wisely. Only when it is required" She said. "Is it that I am even not allowed to spend the money for a bottle of water when I am thirsty ? My basic needs ? I never knew post marriage you would become so money minded God Dammit" She continued.
"What the hell are you talking money minded. What do you mean. I give you everything but you happen to care to the nill" The man blasted. His voice raised enough to startle the whole cafeteria.

The lady kept on and so did their fight. And there came a point, when she was almost ready to burst to tears, all helpless; just the fact that she was trying to control herself.
The man gave no pity to her innocent face, that showed the most saddened smilie ever. And instead he seemed in no mood to compromise from his blasting statements which made no sense to the lady. They kept on and on while I went thinking about them !

The couple seemingly had forgotten about their little daughter who was poking her mom for a soap to clean her messed up hands. I noticed a half eaten and a half spilled sandwich on her ketchup laden white plate as she finished declaring that she was done. The little girl was subconciously offered with a tissue paper by the lady, while the lady still kept busy in solving out for with her husband. Both of them were so lost in that fight that they had no clue of their daughter who had almost stuffed the whole of the tissue paper inside her mouth, post cleaning her hands with it! In no time she went chewing it too ! I looked at her mom ... she had no clue about what her little princess was doing !! I almost got up from my chair to protect the girl when I suddenly took back my seat as the girl showed me her tongue in an atempt to pass an offending gesture.

That nasty expression of hers had almost crushed my cuddly feelings for her but that apart.. ThankGod she had spat that tissue out in an attempt to show me a big tongue. I saw her nasty look towards me but I smiled at her and nodded her a negative head to indicate her not to do like that. Surprisingly she became normal, smiled, shyed away and then in sometime, started waving at me to come by her side. I smiled back and sat still. "That's the wonder of a smile" I thought and looked at her parents who were all worried about their finances and its savings.

Their seemed no end to their fight while I heard that lady "Let's do one thing, we will move from here, farther from all the others and then we could save better and as far my expenses you will also come to know how much do I really spend." I couldn't hear properly as to what did the man reply harshly at this response but now I just kept wondering about the little girl who was jumping all over the caffeteria and her parents did not bother a second about that ! "Wow?? I thought ! The life as they say in a Metro ? Is it !?"

I lost my interest from their converstaion while I got occupied by my thoughts about them and that was the time when the waiter arrived at their table to collect the sandwich laden plates and emptied large sized coffee mugs. They asked for a bill when I wondered why did they choose to have a branded coffee with branded sandwiches for all three of 'em when finances were what they were concerned about all through the time that they had checked in the place !

I wondered and in my thoughts, cleared my bill and left the caffeteria. I imagined if marriage could bring such complications too that one start doubting about another person's expenditure. I compared this situation with that of my home where my dad never kept such tracks. He gives genuine freedom to his loving kids and to his beloved wife while saying that it's us that he is concerned for and it's all for us, that he earns. That is what is called Trust.. Care.. Love and all together which gives happiness. Happiness that money can never buy. I felt proud of my family and proud to be his beloved daughter. He, the most respected, who taught me the best values in this world and always gave me the best. The best he could afford and more than better that I may have ever desereved. In an emotional state of mind, I got reminded of that little girl.. the innocent little one, who I thought will demand of more variety of baby clips, kurtas, sandals and denims from her parents who kept on fighting for "Finances".

I mentioned to myself how much do I adore my father and how much do I love my family. I thanked the Almighty for everything as I moved out of the "Sahara Mall" and hired a rickshaw for back home. "A lot can really happen over coffee" I thought.

'TV ads' -– “Dimaag ki Batti Jalaale”

‘Har ad Kuch Kehti hai …..!’
And Maano ya na maano, sometimes yeh... ‘Zor ka Jhatka dheere se bhi deti hai !’

BINGO...! So while our sharp, analytical eyes are watching those exuberant  T.V ads with unique mottos; then ’ ‘We - the viewers...
  • either tend to run to the Bazaar the very next day to buy the advertised product..
  • or we happily find ourselves emulating the looks of that attractive model  in the ad..
  • or else if nothing goes well, we just simply ignore the ad; and move forward..
  • * But surprisingly, what we miss out through this entire process of watching is .. to actually access an ad properly !!

There are innumerable brands which tend to put forward their mixed messages..
For instance, a young couple goes for a hangout at a KFC outlet to enjoy the chicken.. And post-meal, the girl takes out a tissue to clean her fingers but only to listen her 'cool n stylish' boyfriend telling her ...
TASTE KO WASTE MAT KARO ! IT'S FINGER LICKING GOOD ...!!
...** My Take on it ** ... ^^^  I can just recall .. while we were young little munch-kins , we were always asked to wash and clean our hands properly after a meal .. and .. it's on ... we were really scolded badly, if we ever went on licking our fingers .. Isnt it !  (Applies to most of us , I suppose) And well here it is .. ! This is where the irony creeps !! .. Through this ad; what they have portrayed is  ...  That taste is what matters people... Go ahead !.. Lick yur fingers , but please don't let that craving flavour wipe off your fingers, else it ' ll go waste !! :O

Moving further with the HORLICKS ad now... In that we are shown some sweet innocent kids, stealing milk from the temple  for mixing the yummy chocolate flavor to the milk in order to satisfy their hunger.

...** My Take on it ** ...In some way, haven't they portrayed, that stealing (from a temple, in this case) is fine enough ..not at all objectionable !! :O  [:~] This ad strangely ends with smiling kids and their smiling mommies who are happy that their kids took the milk atleast.. At last, there are 3 words ... " Aepaank Opaank Chchapaank "  and the ad ends...!!

An ad of Mac Donald’s outlet cliams ..  ‘AAP KE ZAMAANE MEIN, BAAP KE ZAMAANE KE DAAM .’ !!
...** My Take on it ** ... I guess the Mac-D franchise was not even established in India before the 90’s… And hence the comparison of food prices on that basis more or less, makes no sense !! Their motto ..I ‘M LOVIN” IT’ is a bit confusing too!!! I mean , If they are loving it, doesn’t mean that the entire world is loving it !! (No personal refutes though... I too love aalu tikki of Mac D ;) .. am just coming up with some of the things related to brand n their motto's, which I found thought provoking ..)

Furthermore, one of those BSNL ad's is also not conceptualized properly.
They show a man sitting on a beach.. and suddenly a UFO comes and pulls the man upwards towards it.
The irony of the situation is that... while the man is in the midst of the air..
i.e. - when already the UFO has pulled him upwards, he receives an SMS on his BSNL mobile saying ‘Spaceship seen on the Beach’. [:P] Lol ..
...** My Take on it ** ... Now that he receives an SMS after only the UFO has pulled him towards itself already, then what’s the use of that late SMS  service… ;P !!

In a RELIANCE ad also, something contradictory has been depicted..
They show a couple who; while in the initial years of their relationship, had inscribed a love message on the walls of an ancient monument.
And years later, the guy goes to the same place, to check if their love-mark was still there… and while he is reaching at that place, he connects with his wife through his Reliance mobile and confirms his sweetheart... "Yea, our love-mark is still there"  !
...** My Take on it ** ... Isn’t this ad indirectly encouraging the people to write on the public monuments ! [:-O]  The fact, that the government has totally banned the writing of any such thing on the public monuments, has been probably just overlooked !! And link to this ... I am also wondering, how has this ad got a green flag for being telecasted on national television too !! On one hand , we see the governmental advertisements encouraging people to take care of our very own Incredible India and on the other hand; such ads are shown a green flag .. !

As am getting geared up with this ; I am being bugged up by various other ads too .. but I think I ll take em up in the next one  !! .. ;)
I can sense this piece of writing becoming a lil longer.. and perhaps a lil boring and monotonous ! ;) ... So all that I gota say now is .. that ...
In a Monopolistic economy like ours; where the sellers are always in an urge of proving their products superior to those of their competitors' , certainly, there are a lot many new advertisements coming up daily ...!
And in this saga of watching these commercials,
while our DIL MAANGE MORE  or our BHEJA FRIES ;
probably the only thing that we ought to remember is --
** to follow only those ads that are meaningful and socially correct . [:)]
And for all the other ads ...
Let's just Welcome ‘em and Enjoy ‘em’  ... !!  ^**^
KYUKI  meri maano ;
... toh Life mein PAGALPANTI bhi Zaroori Hai  !
So ..... priye ad banaane waalo, ‘LAGE RAHO ’…!!!
Kyuke TV dekhte rehne ki , “YEH PYAAS HAI BADI ..!!!” [:)]

Zero 2 infinity ..!

SMILES  !!! Here it is !! My new Blog ... aka '' ZZero 2 Infinity'' .. !! This blog, as the name suggests ... would cover almost anything n everything that I feel like expressing out loud out here at the wonderful Blogspot !!
Creation OF My Blog (Behind the scenes)
All I wanted was a new blog.. Coz somehow I had lost the track on my previous one :'(   ... It was yesterday evening... that while sitting in my room upstairs, and while sipping my shaam ki chai, I thought of making myself a new blog that wud probably have a unique name in addition to having some unique blog posts ;-) !!!
I thought a bit .. and then thought a bit more... and finally then I reached at a name 'Zero to Infinity' that sounded unique enough to me. The name was probably one of its kind, that I thought I wud love to call my blog with !   Annd there !!!  ....  The very next moment, I logged onto the WordPress ... But only to find that the user name alreaddyy existed  :-(
I later tried on with various other combinations ...  But it was only after I tried using the letter Z twice in the word zero, that I thought the blog-name was finally making some sense ... :) ... [Quite a lott better than '02infinity' OR 'zerotoinfinity' OR 'O2infinity' I thought [;)] ] !!!
And so ..... in this personal kindaa space of mine, I would be sharing and updating the things on my side ... ... .. all that I feel or analyse  .. Mmmmm... or simply just anythingggg under the sun, that I feel like expressing .. .... .. and that too while travelling in this plane called 'Life' from destination Zero to destination Infinity !!!!!!  " ... ... .. Off takes this flight ...!!!
Cheeers  !!' :-)
